My Background

I help people to be more comfortable in their body/mind/spirit

 

I’m Rebecca Davis. My training is in the Feldenkrais Method, Somatic Experiencing, and dance. I’m also an artist and performer with more than 25 years of experience in somatic practices, meditation, and chi gong.

I originally came to Feldenkrais because I wanted to improve my dance technique. I have stayed with it for so many years because it’s a vast and versatile container. The process not only improves mobility and coordination, it also calms the nervous system, and sharpens perception. 

While the Feldenkrais Method is capacious, it’s not the only process that some people need to heal. Over the years in private practice, I could sense that some people I was seeing for chronic pain needed an additional kind of support. Somatic Experiencing has filled that gap. These two methods together offer a powerful combination for healing physical and emotional pain. I also draw on my experience as an artist so that the healing process can be full of creativity, curiosity, and beauty.

It is my greatest pleasure to be a supportive partner in another’s healing process. I share what I have learned to help others to develop a deeper and more compassionate relationship with their own bodies and minds.
